Vanessa Simmons and Project Runway Candice Cuoco debuted their new SS18 collection, SIRENS at an exclusive New York Fashion Week (NYFW) runway event on September 12. Their guests list buzzed with main highlights that included Alexander McQueen, Tami Rivera, Sevyn Streeter & many more who have a presence in the Fashion industry that attended. Drawing inspiration from the sea, each silhouette features fabrics and embellishments that embody the ocean’s depths. Leather and silk are awash in fin-like ruffles. Textured fabrics and intricate details evoke mysterious aquatic creatures. Dramatic draping and sophisticated patterning reflect the waves and spiraling nautilus patterns of the sea. SIRENS bewitches and enchants, conjuring a mermaid’s dark seduction. The two stars joined forces in 2016, creating a visual celebration of women who pave their own roads and make their own rules. They firmly believe in making woman look & feel beautiful and powerful in their own way. Candice debuted the collection at NYFW with Vanessa Simmons as a continuation of the pair’s collaborative line, BAD BUTTERFLY.
The first BAD BUTTERFLY collection, CANDICExVANESSA, debuted at last spring’s LA Fashion Week, with a runway event attended by hundreds of industry insiders and have been featured in numerous publications, including the LA Times and Essence Magazine. The development of the collection and the production of the show have also been featured on the current season of WE TV’s "Growing Up Hip Hop". Super excited to see what these two lovely ladies have planned for next season!
And the Top News of course is Christina Cooper as one of the Runway Models for this show! Fantastic designs don't you think?
