Finger Licking Hot N' Juicy Crawfish

In Asia, crawfish is certainly not your everyday food or something you would immediately think of when you are deliberating where to go for lunch or dinner, what cuisine and what food to go for. It becomes a different story when you are in the States. Crawfish is quite well known for its richness in flavor and taste. During my recent trip to California, I got the chance to try out this amazing restaurant (located at 15972 S Euclid St, Fountain Valley, CA 92708) serving one of the best crawfish known as Hot N' Juicy Crawfish.

For those, who are still lost and don't know what crawfish is, here's the long story short history lesson. Crayfish are freshwater crustaceans resembling small lobsters. They are also known as crawfish, crawdads, freshwater lobsters, mountain lobsters, mudbugs, or yabbies. Imagine a tiny lobster hiding beneath a rock in a freshwater stream. That's a crawfish. Crawfish aren't lobsters, but they are a related species and they look a lot like long lost cousins.

Ok, back to hot & juicy here. The restaurant basically had a full set of menu revolving all sorts of seafood and I felt as though I was "Ariel" swimming in the sea but instead of singing or talking to them, I plan to devour my meal as quickly as I can. Ordering is fairly simple, mostly comes in "pounds" and most importantly is to choose the seasoning you want and the spice level. I had 2 other guests with me that night and so for the 3 of us, we ordered basically 1 pound each of all the variety I had set out to try.

Here's what was on our plate for devouring:

1) 1 pound x Crawfish, Hot N' Juicy style, Medium Spice Level

Juicy as hell and meat is so sweet, tender.

2) 1 pound x King Crab Legs, Hot N' Juicy style, Medium Spice Level

Full of juicy meat

3) 1 x Lobster, Hot N' Juicy style, Medium Spice Level

Loving every bite, tender, succulent .. name it all

4) Sweet Potato Fries

Nicely fried and not too oily

5) Don't forget to order their buns (comes in 3 per basket, fairly small) - dip it into the leftover sauce.

Final Verdict:

The so "eager" me to devour

Food: You GOT to TRY it for YOURSELF to know that IT IS REALLY AWESOME! I cannot tell you how much you are missing if you don't give it at least one try. I know it's cliche to say this but it is just so "good".

Service: Servers were great, friendly, polite and always read to help.

By the way, I have to credit this show in Netflix called Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner by David Chang. Through this program, I learnt a lot about what food really means. On one of the episode, Los Angeles with Lena Waithe is where I learnt everything I need to know about Crawfish. I am someone who lives in a small country called the "red dot", Singapore.
